Terms of Service

Please read before using Halal Anchor

Effective date: July 27, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Halal Anchor mobile application ("App") and associated website. By downloading, installing, or using Halal Anchor, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Informational Guidance Only

Halal Anchor is an informational tool. It does not issue religious rulings, certify food as halal or haram, or substitute for the guidance of a qualified religious authority.

Analysis generated by Halal Anchor is based on publicly available menu information, ingredient data, and restaurant practices at the time of analysis. This information may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or outdated. Restaurant menus, suppliers, and preparation methods change without notice.

You are solely responsible for your dietary decisions. Always verify current practices directly with the restaurant before ordering, and follow the guidance of your own trusted religious authority when certainty is required.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Halal Anchor. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account

Creating an account is optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting support. Account deletion removes your personal information and saved history within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

4. Free Plan and Premium Access

Halal Anchor offers a free plan with limited usage and a Premium tier that removes those limits. Free plan limits may change at our discretion with reasonable notice.

5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions (Apple App Store)

All purchases within Halal Anchor — including Monthly and Annual subscriptions and one-time Lifetime access — are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store using Apple's In-App Purchase system. The following terms apply:

Billing and payment

Payment is charged to the Apple ID associated with your App Store account at the time of purchase confirmation. Apple manages all billing, payment processing, and receipts. Halal Anchor does not receive or store your payment information.

Subscriptions

If a subscription option is offered, it automatically renews for successive periods at the same price and duration unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Managing and cancelling subscriptions

You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

Lifetime access

A one-time purchase grants access to Premium features for the lifetime of the application. "Lifetime" refers to the period during which Halal Anchor is actively maintained and available.

Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. Halal Anchor does not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price change in advance and will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

In jurisdictions where limitation of liability for personal injury or for incidental or consequential damages is not permitted, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or Premium access in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services for restaurant data and payment processing. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Halal Anchor is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or conduct of any third-party service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the App. Continued use of Halal Anchor after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
